A selection of my work
I started cyber-interviewing people in January 1999 for Globalink the internet network of the International Union Against Cancer.
I created the blog in May 2006, inserted the past work and continued posting although less frequently in the most recent years. My contract with UICC ended in December 2007 and my last post was in March 2010.
The global traffic has been above 27.000 visits and still averages 15 visits per day.
Cyber-interviews are very effective to promote unsung (s)heroes and increase the visibility of the people and issues.
When you google the name of one person who was cyber-interviewed, the interview is most often at the top of the answers provided by Google. It is a very simple and short format including a photo, brief introduction of the guest, five questions and a conclusion.
Globalink Radio is a blog collecting 397 interviews and audio-news segments I produced and edited from 2004 to September 2008 for Globalink and the International Union Against Cancer.
As soon I was able to find cheap and reliable digital recorders I started audio-recordings as I love radio.
I used the $20 digital recorders to record presentations during conferences, make on the spot interviews, train advocates to use them.
It is a shame that such wonderful and cost effective tools are not systematically used.
I cannot understand why so many groups continue to ignore this medium and do not systematically produce audio-podcasts. It's so easy and cheap but it continues to be a hard sell.
Globalink Radio had 96.502 visits and still has a daily average of 55 visits.
EcoTalk is another example of my podcasting/blogging work, this time in the environmental field.
When Betsy Rosenberg started her ecological program aired on Air America Radio from August 2004 to May 2007 she had no presence on line.
I volunteered to create a blog for her, with a short presentation of each guest including a link to the the podcast. Once the show ended, the blog continued to serve as an archive where all the segments are still accessible.
There are 884 posts covering the 239 editions of the program.
EcoTalk had 174.431 visits and the daily average is still 77 visits.
I also created the blog for On The Green Front, the internet based radio program Betsy started on February 2009. The audience is much smaller with 10.458 visits, 14 per day.
Tobacco Control Images: A good picture is worth a thousand words. I created this blog because I believe in the power of pictures. There are 84 of them, the last one posted in June 2008 but this blog had 98.718 visits and there is still an average of 56 visits per day.
BLOGS IN FRENCH
I have created several blogs in French. Blogvert is a blog I started in 2003 where there are now 795 posts, 119.852 visits and a present daily average of 52 visits.
123 soleil is a blog devoted to presenting solar houses in France and worldwide. It was part of a project for a magazine that was not finalized in 2008 but I have kept adding material when I found stories, houses I liked: 227 posts, 45.538 visits with a daily average of 40 visits.
As the French saying "tout finit par des chansons" (All finishes with songs) goes, I created the blog La chanson du jour - French songs 101 to introduce and share my favorite French songs. Its 270 posts have attracted 23.823 visitors, an average of 44 per day.
All in all I have created more than 100 blogs.
