Sherriss (who is a smoker) wrote in her blog about her reaction to this ad (and others).
Recently I have been thinking about anti-smoking ads. When I see an
anti smoking ad, I don't think to myself that I should quit. It just
triggers my thoughts about smoking and then I want a cigarette. Perhaps
the strategy should change. Instead make ads about healthy living,
healthy lungs, healthy heart, healthy skin, being able to walk up a
flight of stairs and not feel like your lungs are going to explode.
More stamina, more energy. Focusing on the negatives propogates those
exact thoughts/actions that the ad is trying to get you to stop. Not
sure if I am explaining myself properly...
What do you think?
In any case I think this is a good ad, except for that 'Death' part. It doesn't help at all.

have you tried smoking electronic cigarettes instead? heck if they helped me quit, they can help anyone quit, trust me. I've succeeded on my 15th attempt.
