September 2: Interview with Paul Johnson, Mechanic with Classic Cycle (18 min ). Paul talks about his work as a bike mechanic, how he started in Minnesota and how after collaborating for 4 years with the US racing team he settled on Bainbridge Island thanks to his cat. We also speak about trends and the safety issue: just as we started the interview a cyclist was hit by a car at the intersection of Ericksen and High School Road. We hope he is OK. July 1: Chris Stanley about his accident while biking on I 99 (66min.) Chris Stanley is an avid bicyclist. On April he was hit by a car because the driver was distracted trying to answer a phone call. The interview took place at his home where he is still in recovery after multiple surgeries. Although he is still in a wheelchair the prognosis for a complete recovery is good and Chris is a fascinating story teller. Always wear your helmet!
April 21: Conference at the library, Dana and Bart Berg, Biking in Europe (63min.) Islanders Dana and Bert have biked in many European countries with their family and friends. Their presentation of their trips in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Germany was impressive. Sorry for the absence of the slides!
