British American Tobacco East Africa
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, our East Africa Zone comprises 16 markets. British American Tobacco East Africa brings together a great diversity of cultures and business environments, stretching from Eritrea to Madagascar and from Rwanda to Somalia.
In East Africa, we grow tobacco leaf as well as manufacture tobacco products both for domestic and export markets. Jinja in Uganda has one of the British American Tobacco Group’s centres of leaf growing excellence, as well as a state-of-the-art green leaf threshing plant. In Nairobi, Kenya, our factory is one of the Group’s centres of manufacturing excellence, and we also have a green leaf threshing plant in Thika.
British American Tobacco West Africa
Our West Africa Zone has its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. It comprises both Anglophone and Francophone countries and has 21 commercial markets, making it the largest geographical ‘Zone’ we cover in the Sub Saharan Africa Area.
From the most western point of Africa in Senegal, to the Central African Republic, we have centres of trade marketing and distribution excellence responsibly marketing our products.
British American Tobacco Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Unlike our other ‘Zones’, DRC is a single market which comes into our Area. We have a factory in Kinshasa and a distribution capability that serves the entire country.
