Revisiting the site of the Gates Foundation to see if there was anything new concerning the grant awarded to the World Health Organization to promote tobacco control in Sub-Sahara Africa ($10 million for five years in August 2009) I discover that the Foundation also awarded in July $30.875.000 to the Bloomberg Family Foundation (for one year and 9 months) to promote tobacco control "globally". The Bloomberg Foundation had already received in May 2008, $23.875.000 (for 2 years). Strangely enough I find out when revisiting this link that the page about this grant is no longer available on the Gates Foundation's site (October 30).
