The American Cancer Society at a side meeting during the 15th WCTOH held in Singapore commended its Africans partners for their dedication and commitment to save millions of lives.
The Chief Executive Officer of the ACS, John Seffrin who addressed select African partners however said, more efforts is required to achieve set goal of reducing tobacco related deaths globally.
According to him, work (in) different African countries is already yielding positive results and that is why ACS is putting more commitment, especially on the continent. (The article does not say how this increased commitment will translate).
The meeting was attended by African leaders in tobacco control and the ACS team at the 15th WCTOH.
