The aim of this project is to strengthen tobacco control capacity, policy and policy implementation in seven French-speaking African countries. Through a combination of training, technical guidance, information sharing, strategic communications and monitoring the project will support capacity building of national tobacco control bodies, support implementation of smoking bans, health warnings, tax increases, FCTC implementation, and assist in countering tobacco industry interference. Countries in which the project will provide support include Chad, Niger, Burkina, Cote D’Ivoire, Guinea, Mauritania, and Burundi.
