 Sigareth, the comic strip created by Titane Laurent for VISA-Mauritius to promote having graphic health warnings on cigarette packs is now available in a blog format in English and in French. Contact Véronique Le Clézio (at [email protected]) if you want to distribute the strip in your country and organize the accompanying advocacy campaign

Mauritius: $130K from the Bloomberg Initiative to enforce smoke-free regulations

The project aims to achieve 100% smokefree environments in Mauritius in accordance with Article 8 of the FCTC and the national legislation of 2008. It will: strengthen the enforcement of smokefree regulations; increase awareness of the regulations and respond to public information needs; mobilise key groups to increase support and facilitate enforcement; monitor and evaluate the impact of smokefree mobilisation.

Focus: Smokefree  Amount: $130,000  Start Date: Mar 2010   End Date: May 2011
