Bloomberg Philanthropies has announced it will invest $360 million in the next 5 years to support tobacco control initiatives worldwide. How much will go to efforts in Africa, to what organizations? Visiting the website of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids we only found one grant awarded in 2016 for a university in South Africa. They also funded the recent meeting in Harare (see the previous posts below). What's next? With whom? What about a global continental strategy for a change? One that would include each country. Such an all inclusive approach should have been implemented from the very beginning, ten years ago. Any hope for a change in the right direction?
