Léo Marjane: Seule ce soir (1941)

Seule ce soir Léo Marjane sings Seule ce soir. Lyrics by Rose Noël and Jean Casanova, music by Paul Durant. YouTube mistakenly says this song was by Charles Trénet. Strangely one of the covers spells Seul without an e and the other is with an e.

Charles Trénet: Verlaine (1941)

Charles Trénet  (1913-2001) puts music on the poem of Verlaine: Chanson d'automne (from Poèmes saturniens, 1866). The first words were also used in June 1944 to warn the French résistant groups of the upcoming Normandie landing. I wonder if they chose the words because of the song.

Lyrics (Paul Verlaine) Wheaton College offers the text said by Jean Claude Pascal but I much prefer the swing version of Trénet.
