There are very few radio programs devoted to French songs in the US. Here are the ones I found.
On Monday Francophiliacs is a weekly program on WEFT - Community radio Champaign-Illinois (2-4pm local time). They have a blog where they post their playlists although I don't think it had been recently updated (most recent August 2009). Most of the songs they air are unknown to me as are the singers. They don't provide links to more information about the song or the performer.
On Thursday French Connection is weekly program on KVCU Boulder (radio1190.org at 6/7 pm (local time) . They are on Facebook where they post the weekly playlist. Most of the songs they air are unknown to me as are the singers. They don't provide links to more information about the song or the performer.
On Friday, Francomix was a weekly program on WDUB-Denison University at Granville-Ohio (1.30 to 3.30 local time) but now I don't see them any longer on the schedule. Their site still have some information about a selection of singers but it looks the show is no longer on the air. I am investigating...
Bonjour Chanson is a program produced by Charles Spira who is based in DC. It is aired monthly on KUT2 HD in Austin (Texas). The shows are stored on PRX but it is not the most user-friendly system. Charles is looking for better ways to disseminate his work but it is still an ongoing process. There are no links for more information about the song or the performer (but Charles does give some information when he introduces the songs).
My goal is to produce a weekly program (eventually with a daily format as well) that would take advantage of all the internet based tools providing the maximum of references and context.
