Dear Dr. Ogwell,
On behalf of the Mozambique Public Health Association (AMOSAPU), let me very warmly congratulate, in the first place, all Kenyan political leaders and decision makers for their wise vision in putting the health of the Kenyan people above the mere tobacco economical interests.
And in the second place, all of you, health and other professionals who have, courageously, been engaged in lobbying to convince the decision makers to pass this very important tobacco control Bill.
Your example inspires us and gives us a hope that any just battle is not futile but meaningful and noble, especially when it comes to tobacco control. We shall use this example in our fight to make the Mozambican politicians and decision makers to understand that human life and health of all citizens are fundamental human rights and they should always be in the top of their agenda and any decision they have to make has to be always in favor of these two fundamental human rights. Now, as you have correctly stated, the real and toughest battle has begun, to implement the Bill in real sense. We encourage you to continue fighting with determination and perseverance as you have already shown in having this Bill passed. Once again, my warm congratulations to you. Francisco Cabo
