A dual strategy for antismoking videos

As I surf on the various YouTube services of the world I think Globalink should have a dual strategy about them: encourage all tobacco control advocates to post videos on as many YouTube services they can (and we should help them do it) AND post them on our library clearinghouse for referral, archiving, study, comparisons, etc. YouTubes AND Globalink

And I am often unable to capture videos posted on YouTube so the next best thing to having them within our library is to have them included in the glkvideo blog...

Reflexions about the traffic numbers

of course it is "better" to have a high traffic but we should not confuse the overall traffic on
YouTube with the real number of hits for the antismoking videos that are hapharzardly posted there (or on yahoovideo or else).

The YouTube lessons and how to redesign the multimedia center

There are many things to learn form YouTube. The first that comes to my mind is that the key is the search engine (and the tabs and categories that can help have a fine search).
The consequence is that the pre-sorting, like spearating the clips by country is mostly useless if not a negative point. If people want clips from france they will jsut search France, they don't need to go and look into a file titled France.
That means the way the GLK multimedia center is built (as far as the presentation is concerned) is obsolete. Of course it can remain the same but by doing so it will remain in the world of the past, the world before youtube and else. What should change?

Un article du Monde sur YouTube

Pas formidable mais a lire dans la mesure ou YouTube est le format dominant de distribution de films sur le net et que son architecture devrait (a mon avis) inspirer des modifications dans la structure du GLK multimedia center. J'y reviens plus tard, en anglais.
