Oil on ice, begins with an intimate view of the natural history and indigenous cultures of northeastern Alaska, then looks at the role of oil in Alaska’s history and culminates with the national battle over plans to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Oil on Ice is currently pursuing a self-distribution model for the film and DVD, with pending partnership agreements for specific markets in education and activist circles.
Their distribution mix includes
some element of self-distribution, through their on-line store
and film festivals, while weighing broadcast opportunities, domestic
and international theatrical release and home video distribution.
