I have put together the presentation of me-tv by me-tv (that is cut in several short messages on their site)
On me-tv, you can watch the videos that people post on their blogs by subscribing to channels (RSS feeds). You can also tag videos and make playlists.
We created me-tv because a lot of people were putting their own video on
the web, and it's brilliant stuff, but it's hard to find, and hard to
share. Video search is cool enough, but we felt there was something lacking.
me-tv is an aggregator, a feedreader. It takes RSS feeds of videoblogs and other sources.
In human language, that means that you can watch and read lots and lots of different videoblogs and other video sites here.
We also let you DO stuff with these videos. You can tag them with names of people that appear in them, and you can make playlists. (We don't host video, by the way.)
And we're just getting started - me-tv was created in December 2004 (*).
Now, there is a ton of commercial video on the web. Porn, the late show, you name it. Even though you can find some of that on me-tv, we're really about video created by real people (*).
So we focus our functionality on that: real video by real people. We try to make it easier to tell your story, share your worldview, and find others who are telling their stories.
We are planning an API, and lots of other cool features. For now, we're in early beta. Things work, but bugs will still happen.
Let us know what you think, and what you think me-tv could become. We're just as curious as you!
