This month's issue of Evergreenmonhtly tells about the Spiritual Cinema Circle, a home-DVD monhtly subscription service that sends its members a DVD compilation of spiritually uplifting shorts, documentaries and fiction features.
From their January selection we especially noticed Ryans well.
This short documentary tells the story of six-year-old Ryan Hreljac, who, while in kindergarten, heard that children in an African village in Uganda had to walk many kilometers just for fresh drinking water. He was shocked and decided to raise the $70 he believed it would take to drill a well for the village. When it turned out that it would actually take thousands of dollars to drill the well, he decided to raise that amount. This is the incredible story of a boy who believed that he is as responsible as anyone for creating a solution to an enormous problem on the earth today - the lack of fresh and available drinking water, especially in Africa. Ryan's moving story demonstrates if we are willing to take responsibility for the state of the planet today, the world can truly be a better place! Written by Lalita Krishna. [30 minutes, in English]
