Adieu To The City Of Lighters

This is probably one of the last columns Art Buchwald wrote (October 17, 2006).
It was inspired by the then still hotly debated proposal to ban smoking in public places in France, including restaurants.
Art died before he could see and enjoy for himself the smoke-free France (despite his love for cigars).
