Surfing on Google I find this campaign organized by Calgary when they become smokefree in early 2007. But the campaign is about helping youth quit. The 4 ads are on the smokefreecalgary.com site and on YouTube. Interesting as they are "just" testimonies, ie quite easy and cheap to produce.
In an effort to help young people reduce tobacco product use, Calgary Health Region, through funding from Health Canada, Smoke-Free Calgary and Alberta Cancer Foundation, has launched a mass media campaign to reduce tobacco use among 18-to-24-year-olds.
The objective of this campaign is to raise awareness within four specific groups, including Aboriginal young adults, (post secondary) students, trades workers, and young adults who will be affected by the new Smoke-Free Bylaw. The campaign was developed in partnership with the Calgary Health Region, Alberta Cancer Board, Health Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, AADAC, Mount Royal College and Smoke-Free U of C.
"We want to support young adults who want to reduce or quit tobacco use and through SmokeFreeCalgary.com we can offer cessation information and resources to help them succeed," says Susan Mide Kiss, Calgary Health Region.
The campaign features a series of television and radio public service announcements, transit advertisements and a poster campaign profiled throughout Calgary. The campaign features "real world" scenarios which highlight some of the unique challenges facing the young adult population.
