A new campaign by The Cancer Council Western Australia’s Make Smoking
History
program will encourage parents to make their home and cars smoke free
to protect their children from the dangers of second hand smoke. The TV ads will run from May 27 to June 23. WATCH
In Minnesota the recent media campaigns produced by ClearWay have focused on secondhand smoke. You can see the 3 TV ads, including one with Heather Crowe (who died on May 22, 2006) on the areyouokwiththat.com site. They emphasize the untimely death of non-smokers exposed to environmental tobacco smoke: "involuntary smokers, involuntary deaths".
Quit Victoria has launched a new graphic TV ad showing a surgical removal of fatty deposits in the neck of a smoker. The goal is to emphasize the risk of stroke for smokers (that was also the theme of the recent media campaign in New South Wales). The ad is also posted on YouTube that tells us the ad will run on TV from May 31 to June 23.
