Now You Know: ETS in France

The French Government just passed a new decree prohibiting smoking in public places. This is the TV ad that has started airing (from November 16 to December 6). I found it on the Dailymotion site. Three days later is has also been posted on YouTube, on the official site of MILDT and on Globalink :)

New Media Campaign in the UK about the Smoking Ban

In the UK, the Department of Health is launching a new media campaign to prepare the public to the smoking ban. Below are more details from the Observer.

Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health

The Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health produced several videos along the years. A few found their way into YouTube. Like this one about the smokefree workplace (2005).

Smokefree Scotland

On March 26, 2006 Scotland banned smoking in pubs, restaurants and workplaces. Here is a TV ad that was aired before the start of the ban: Clearing the air for a healthier Scotland.

Heather Crowe: I am dying of lung cancer from secondhand smoke (2002)

Heather died in Ottawa on May 21, 2006. She had lung cancer because of her exposure to secondhand smoke as a waitress. Watch on of her famous clips.

Luc's Office and Marie's House

Luc's Office was produced in October 2004 by FCB for the French Health Promotion Agency. It was the first clip (along La Maison de Marie, Marie's House) ever devoted by this Agency to passive smoking since the Tobacco Control Act of 1991 that supposedly protected non-smokers rights but was left mostly unenforced.
That's 13 years of burying the issue but those two clips are good.
