August 17: Linda Lawrence Hunt talks at Grieg Hall, Sons of Norway in Poulsbo about her book Bold Spirit: Helga Etsby's forgotten walk across Victorian America (61 min).

The amazing story of two women's (a 36 years old mother -of 8 children- accompanied by her 18 years old daughter) trek from Spokane to New York.
How it was later kept secret from the grand and great grand children and how it has been reconstructed by Linda Lawrence Hunt.
A tribute to the strength of American women.

Meeting of the Community Forestry Commission

August 17: This is the first time we record a meeting of the Forestry Commission (56 min).

Earl Emerson about Pyro

August 5: Earl Emerson talks at Eagle Harbor Bookstore about his new book Pyro (60 min).
Earl is a Seattle fire fighter who picked up this career so he could also write in his spare time and supports his family until his books were accepted for publication. That took years of perseverance.
He speaks very freely and candidly about his writing and how he imagined the plot and the characters for Pyro.
He also discusses the coincidence of serial arsons in Seattle that started right when Pyro -a story about serial arsons in Seattle!- was launched a few days ago.
Earl is a great speaker and he touches on burning issues.
