I went back to the public disclosure commission site because Steve Gardner wrote in a Kitsap Sun article that Will Peddy now had raised $ 14.350 from 40 donors while Darlene had $ 9.460 from 83 donors.
Checking is pretty tedious because the system does not allow for a quick and easy read.
I still thought it would be worth a closer look to see who were those supporters.
This is by no means a complete review since it is very possible that I missed a line and after a while I did not care to write who gave $50 or even $100.
As for Darlene I noticed that she got $500 from Paul Brainerd, Connie Waddington, W and K Carruthers, Colleen Byron, $350 from Thomas Cunningham, $100 from Christine Rolfes and Peter and Wendy O'Connor (architects). She spent $917 for ads in the Review, plus around $1000 for a mailing (printing = $968).
Will Peddy is also recorded under William K Peddy: that's where the most recent funds are. A few more contractors: Theos Hanes for $200, Fitter Enterprises $500, Mike Nelsen (plumbing) $200, another contractor but I cannot read my scribbling, for $300.
Two $1000 checks: one from Winston Buxtos (?) (retired) and one from the Hemphills (self-employed).
As for expanses I noticed almost $3500 for signs, newspaper ades for around $1500, $1287 for beverage for fund raising event and $429 for food and $588 for Jon Olsen travel expanses.
Frankly it woudl be easier if the candidates were candid about it and published everything on their blog.
Thank you for thrifty candidates who limit their expanses (or is it because they don't have as many generous friends?). My feeling is the whole thing is becoming quite pricey (at least for Will and D).
