Hello Nezam!
I just visited your very traditional website, :)
It is a nice initiative but it does not allow visitors to ask you
questions for everybody to see and post comments.
In my opinion it is with this type of
interactive communication that one can see what candidates think and stand for.
You still have plenty of time to open such
a blog where people could post their comments and ask questions.
My questions for now are:
1. if you were elected would you open the communication via the immediate creation of blogs for all the city departments and commissions, committees ,etc?
2. Would you require the Planning Department to post on line and on a specific blog all the basic information about pending development projects, including the number of “significant trees” involved? All this information is already available for the public if one goes to city hall and request it. But who has the time to do that?
3.Would you require the Planning Department to tell us how many
significant trees have been cut in Winslow during the last 4 years?
I have requested this information many times
without getting anywhere. Obviously our planning department and our elected
officials don’t want to tell us how many trees have been cut down.
Is it for
fear that we realize the extent of the damage and how little (would nothing
do?) has been done to compensate for this loss?
I would be happy to post your answers on my blog, www.voiceofbainbridge.org where I am posting them and where you can also directly post your eventual comments and answers.
Take care
Philippe Boucher
PS: if you are interested by an interview-discussion –as we never had the opportunity to have one- that is also an option. Of course this interview, digitally recorded would be made available on line.
PPS: to be “fair” I am sending a similar message to Darlene.
