Sustainability coverage on NPR?

Does NPR report enough about sustainability issues? They claim they do. I disagree :)
Those are piecemeal programs here and there but there is not one daily rendez-vous about those issues.
Is that normal considering what is at stake? Are the environmental organizations lobbying for more radio programs and/or (even better) coproducing their own segments via a radiobrodcasting alliance? Unfortunately radiobroadcasting is not on their radar screen except with very limited projects  that do not try to bring together as many diverse groups as possible.
When will they get it? Soon I hope but it would be great if our local NPR stations were also more proactive.

What about nuclear power?

I have been postponing for months taking out one segment of the conference given in February by Amory Lovins where he talks about nuclear energy as a non-solution. Here it is (7 min).

Interview with Congressman Jay Inslee

This Monday, Philippe Boucher sat with Jay Inslee on a sunny bench at the Farmer's market.
Jay talks about a recent trip to Europe where he had the opportunity to voice his concerns about Airbus vs Boeing. He  gives several examples of new technologies to improve  energy use but is Detroit ready for them? As a follow up on the presentation given by Amory Lovins on February 11, he  explains how the Pentagon can play a key role to help.
Islanders had asked VoB to transmit questions to Jay about the filibuster and the electoral reform (paper trail etc), here are his answers.
At the end we discussed the ferry problem, the fares and why we are in this situation.

Winning the oil end game, by Amory Lovins

We are happy to be back with this recording of the conference given by Amory Lovins this Friday at Islandwood.
Amory who comes to the island to teach at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute created by Gifford Pinchot explained to a full house the argument of his most recent book, Winning the oil end game.
He showed how super-efficient cars could be built very rapidly, how alternate bio-fuels could be economically developed and energy wastes eliminated to the extent this country's oil dependency would disappear.

It all started with frustration, searching for a decent radio program on Sunday night while washing the dishes. Besides the lack of talk programs, Philippe Boucher wanted to hear more programs about Bainbridge, the environment and political issues not covered by mainstream media.
"But how do you serve a community like Bainbridge Island?" said Boucher, a Winslow resident.
"The logic is we should have our own radio (station)."
