Oklahoma City, Oklahoma -- Congress has delivered a nasty surprise to the Indian Nations from whom most of this state was stolen. Even the parts that weren't stolen will now be turned over to the oil-and-gas industry in a new version of the Oklahoma Land Rush.
You might not have thought that the Energy Bill the President just touted was yet another land grab from the First Nations. Deeply buried within it, however, was a provision that stripped from Indian tribes in Oklahoma -- and only in Oklahoma -- the right to protect the environment on their own lands. Run a conference, then invite bloggers

This a good advice given by PR expert Steve Rubel. The Sierra Summit could also be an opportunity for environmental bloggers to network and develop strategies.

A few things to consider when recording a conference

Very often conference organizers don't even think about recording the sessions.
When they do they sometimes are not sure what to do with the recordings as Joel Makover noted about the recent Aspen Ideas Festival.
That's where the new media, blogs and podcastings come into play.

A few ideas for an audio coverage of the summit

I think the best and easiest way to make the recordings of the conference available is via a blog.

What is technically required?

Installing a small portable digital recorder in front of the speaker is enough to produce a good sound quality recording. Eventually, if the speaker agrees she/he can wear a lapel mike and the sound is even better.

How much would it cost?

I can work alone and produce the 20 recordings covering the main speakers and one leader of each category of workshop (provided I can juggle around the time conflicts).
